We are designed for riders with little or no off-tarmac
experience.
You will need
to:
Have a bike. Obvious I know, but we do not hire motorcycles.
Have insurance, RFL and MOT (if required).
Have a crash helmet, to comply with current road laws.
Be of an adventurous disposition.
Accept and sign our Terms and Conditions/Disclaimer.
The bike doesn't need to be an all singing, all dancing adventure bike. Any
motorcycle can cover a range of off-tarmac roads, we will ask you more about
this in the pre-adventure questionnaire, BUT there is always a strong
possibility that your motorcycle will be dropped. It is certain that it will get
at least dusty, if not sandy, wet, muddy, very muddy and possibly scratched.
Common casualties are control levers, number plates and plastic panels.
Punctures are also a constant hazard. Please bear this in mind, we don't want it
to spoil your day.
RaR is not just about 'on the day' guidance. We can help with all manner of
planning, from spares choices, clothing, safety equipment to training, nutrition
and apres-ride. (I find a decent rosada is often the way ahead!)
For 2 or more day courses camping/B+B etc. will be required. Sorry, we don't do
accommodation, although camping/camp-fire is always available. We can advise on
off-bike living, comfort and coffee. This often makes for lively discussions
around the camp-fire!
What we are not:
A race school. The days take place on the public highway. There are many good
motorcross/enduro schools out there...
A maintenance/repairs mechanic. Although we will try our best to keep you
moving.
A recovery service, but we've never left a rider behind off-tarmac yet.
A bike hire service, 'learn your bike.'
A B+B service. (Camping is available, but a little rough, toilets, shower,
camp-fire etc.)
All our riding takes place on the public road, and involves a mix of tarmac
and unsurfaced roads. The tarmac stretches are chosen
to maximise enjoyment and provide a rest between the more challenging sections.
We are based at the southern edge of central England, bordering the Chiltern
Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with easy access from the M1 or A41, not far from the M25 and M40.
Prices from £75 a day. Please contact
us for more information.
